Named after a mimic

The Australian lyrebird reproduces almost any sound it hears, including a mobile phone, a car alarm, a camera shutter and a chainsaw. Mark Livings and Carl Hartmann started Lyre’s in 2019 and named it after the bird, because the entire brief was to reproduce a classic spirit closely enough that the drink built on it is unmistakable.

The range was built so a bartender can pour it into a negroni, a spritz, an espresso martini or a margarita and get the same result as a spirit base. It’s for exactly this reason Lyre’s is constantly voted the number one non-alcoholic spirit on the market.

What to do with it behind the bar

Italian Orange and Italian Spritz cover the spritz, which is the most ordered non alc drink in any venue that offers one. Dry London Spirit makes a gin and tonic nobody questions. Agave Blanco does a margarita. Coffee Originale handles the espresso martini, which is the drink the designated driver misses most.

The non-alc menu of fancy glasses of juice is over. Now the non-drinkers have real options.
